Melcher Elementary 3.2

Our school is located at 3958 Chelsea, in Kansas City, Missouri. It is named after George Melcher, who was superintendent from 1928 to 1940.

George Melcher Elementary opened its doors in 1962. In 1976, the school was changed from a K-7 to a school with kindergarten, fifth and sixth grades. In 1988, it became a foreign language magnet offering Spanish, French and German to fourth- and fifth-graders.

Currently our school is a K-6, with two exceptional education classrooms, five support classrooms, and three auxiliary staff members.
