The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Arizona is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was founded in Phoenix in 1980.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Arizona is the founding chapter.
The Foundation has granted more than 4,000 wishes to date.
The inspiration for the Foundation was the dream of a seven-year-old Phoenix boy with leukemia named Chris Greicius, who wished to be a policeman. Little did Chris know, his wish would be the inspiration for the largest wish-granting organization in the world.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation® is now the largest wish granting organization in the world. There are currently 62 chapters in the United States and its territories. Make-A-Wish Foundation® International has 35 international affiliates on five continents.
