Over the last decade, LSU has engaged in conversations about the need to realign academic programs that focus on education and human services. By bringing together programs and capitalizing on their individual strengths, we have created a dynamic new college that addresses the socially significant problems we face as a state and a nation.

The academic units that form the new college have outstanding histories. They will continue to serve these missions. In this new configuration, they are increasing their impact by forging partnerships and sharing resources that enrich and empower their ability to provide our students with an extraordinary education and opportunities to impact the lives of our citizens.

Joining in this partnership are the:
■School of Education
■School of Human Resource Education and Workforce Development
■School of Kinesiology
■School of Library and Information Science
■School of Social Work
■University Laboratory School (University High)

It is my personal pleasure to invite you to visit the LSU College of Human Sciences and Education and join us as a student or professional. Through the college’s extraordinary faculty, staff, students, friends in the Peabody Society, donors and supporters, college publications and outreach, we hope you will have many opportunities to explore and experience our excellent programs and services.

Sincerely,
