Lighthouse Alliance Community Church 3.58

We are “Followers” of Jesus Christ, called to be disciples, and called to make disciples. Our mission involves both “being” healthy biblical disciples of Jesus and investing in other people that they might become healthy disciples also. We use 4 words that we believe Jesus “modeled” and also invited others to follow. A Healthy biblical disciple has these 4 “ingredients” developing & growing in their lives, (in increasing measure) as they follow Jesus. The 4 areas are LOVE, LIVE, LEAD, and LIGHT. They all begin with “L” just like Lighthouse which is the name of our church. (Easy to remember) We as a church invite people into this “process” of growing as followers of Jesus. It is our mission, it is also our purpose, and it is also our process. We can ask ourselves the questions which surface from these 4 words and the scriptures which go with them and evaluate (we believe) if were truly “following Jesus”! This is really a “lifestyle” in which we live into… as we follow Jesus and invite others to follow Jesus also. These areas involve BOTH living them out daily in the church, but also in the community around us that others might come to KNOW Jesus. Our “Mission” involves our whole church, from our children’s church, the youth groups, up through all our other ministries as adults.

The 4 words are:

LOVE: We believe as disciples of Jesus Christ, we are called to LOVE God and others. This is the very firm foundation that we must have.

Mark 12:30-31 “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’£ There is no commandment greater than these.”

LIVE: We believe we need to LIVE in community/fellowship with one another. Community is defined as a unified body of believers.

Acts 2:42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

LEAD: We believe that as His disciples we need to LEAD through humble servanthood.

Matt.20:26-28 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave—just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

LIGHT: We believe as His disciples we are on mission with God to be a LIGHT shining in the darkness.

Matt.28:18-20 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Matt. 5:14-16 “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

Again, Our Mission is to follow after Jesus Christ and His example of Loving God, Living in community, Leading through humble servanthood, and Lighting the way, so that others might come to know the Father.
