Krista's Cast Iron 1.97

I started learning about using cast iron years ago when I was looking for cookware to use when camping with my family. We tend to cook directly over the campfire or on a propane grill. I soon started using more and more at home in our oven and gas stove.
I developed a deep respect for the craftmanship that went into creating the pieces. There is a reason that cast iron cookware is passed down from generation to generation, yet we don't see our teflon pans being passed on. It's quite a feeling to cook breakfast on a 70-year-old skillet and know that several generations of families have done the exact same thing with that exact same pan.
Restoring pots and pans to a pristine state has become a true calling for me. Finding a pan that is in a poorly maintained state and spending the time and detail to bring it back is a wonderful feeling.
I enjoy sharing my live for cast iron and created this page to share that enthusiasm. Some posts will be cookware that I have restored and am selling, other posts will share info and details about projects that I am underway with from my personal collection. I hope to pass on tidbits about what makes each special and hope that followers will learn a thing or two from my page.
