King Phillip Little League, established in 1952, is a non-profit organization located in Bristol, Rhode Island. This organization allows kids from the age of 5 to 16 years old to play organized baseball. Each team is sponsored by a local company that buys the uniforms and possibly gives a donation to buy other material for the field or game apparel. Usually local fathers or mothers take on the task of being the coach of their son/daughter’s team, while others may volunteer their time to work on the field or work in the concession stand. To be a coach it is necessary to get approved by the board and pass a background check. The board includes a president, vice president, treasurer, secretary, information officer, player agent, division directors, concession manager, and a safety officer.
