Joyvin Mobile Grocer LLC. (JMG) is a for-profit, social enterprise. JMG intends to use grocery distribution as a means for fulfilling a mission to empower Dayton, Ohio and its residents. JMG will achieve this by providing fresh, healthy food and domestic commodities to areas deemed as “food deserts”, JMG and its community partners can aid in creating “Whole” People. Joyvin Mobile Grocer (JMG) has an outstanding collaboration with the CDCRC Inc. (Community Development Corporation Resource Consortium Inc.), a non-profit organization, who has been serving the Greater Dayton community since 2001 in: financial literacy, small business development, grant writing and many other programs and services, generating community wealth. JMG believes in the core mission of the CDCRC Inc. in that whole people create, whole neighborhoods and whole neighborhoods, create whole communities.” Joyvin is also comprised of over 25, Dayton-local, volunteers to run and maintain the start-up of JMG. JMG is a necessity for the residents living in a “food desert”, it provides them access, availability and affordability to basic human needs such as nutritious healthy food and domestic supplies such as toilet paper, toothpaste, etc. JMG has a core belief, “People are at their best when they are given a fair shot.” When you live within the boundaries of poverty, common, basic things are deprived to your communities such as grocery stores, parks, and/or community centers, due to crime and lack of capital gain. Joyvin Mobile Grocers will simulate the “old time” corner grocer, where one's shopping experience will include moments of community empowerment and individualized encouragement.. Besides purchasing healthy food and domestic commodities, Joyvin Mobile Grocer will provide their customers access to Self-Empowerment programs within the community, returning profits to outreach projects that will address community-specific needs.
