International Peace Garden Border Crossing 3.39

The International Peace Garden Border Crossing is a crossing on the Canada–United States border connecting the towns of Boissevain, Manitoba and Dunseith, North Dakota. The border crossing is adjacent to the International Peace Garden, which was dedicated in 1932, just two years after this crossing was established as a port of entry.The crossing is connected by U.S. Route 281 on the American side and Manitoba Highway 10 on the Canadian side. The entrance/exit to the Peace Garden is directly on the border. This allows visitors from either country to enter the park via US 281 or MB 10 without passing through customs, and they may move throughout the park (crossing the border at will) without restriction. However, the customs stations for Canada and the U.S. are located on the road just north and south (respectively) of the access drives for the garden, requiring all visitors – including those returning to the country from which they arrived – to go through the immigration procedures of their destination country upon leaving the garden.International Peace Garden Airport, a public use airport for general aviation aircraft with no more than 15 passengers, is located to the east of the garden on the U.S. side of the border.
