Orville Hutchison started out delivering milk by horse-drawn wagon to customers in the Monroe area in 1934. Four generations later, Independent Dairy delivers milk in a frozen form that goes by such names as Moose Tracks, Superman, Mackinaw Island Fudge, and Mint Chocolate Chip. The business is now one of the oldest and largest ice cream makers and distributors in Michigan.
