Impact Charter Elementary will be a K-5 Core Knowledge School, which will be the first of its kind in Baker, LA.
Impact Charter Elementary School will initially accept students in grades K-3 in the school’s first year. Each subsequent year, another grade level will be added resulting in a K-5 institution by Year 3. All class sizes will be 25 or fewer students. Impact Charter Elementary will set a school culture that will not only encourage and motivate students, but it encompasses a curriculum that is challenging and will push students to their full potential, and involve parents and community members in the learning process. Furthermore, The Core Knowledge curriculum is designed to help students develop academic and organizational skills, as well as a deep knowledge base in all core subjects and is aligned with the Common Core State Standards.

Students will develop academic and organizational skills, as well as a deep knowledge base. Primarily targeted students who geographically reside in the City of Baker and in all areas East Baton Rouge Parish. The Core Knowledge® Curriculum has demonstrated success among similar populations. Currently, there is no other school offering this program to students in Baker, LA. Core Knowledge educational philosophy and approach are based in cognitive science. Cognitive science is very clear that we learn by associating new information with something we already know. Building a broad base of background knowledge on language arts and literature, history and geography, mathematics, science, music, and the visual arts, it facilitates the learning process across all domains and by outlining the precise content that every child should learn.
