This colonial oak and chestnut house is very private and cozy. After a total restoration, it was even featured in This Old House Magazine. The cottage can sleep five people. It has two bedrooms, and a sleeping loft, modern heat and air conditioning and the conveniences of a modern kitchen and bathroom. (Look for the photos showing the house as it was prior to restoration in 1999.) Located at the end of a long and beautiful tree lined drive, the cottage sits on 50 rolling acres of woods and pasture. Enjoy the quiet and solitude. Sit by a campfire. Walk along the wooded paths. Stay for as long as you like. (One guest spent the entire winter and wrote a screenplay.) For breakfast, we stock your pantry and refrigerator with locally grown and produced foods whenever possible. You can prepare breakfast at your leisure. Included are local eggs, fruits and juices along with a variety of cereals, pastries, yogurts, teas, coffee etc. The kitchen has a microwave, a cook-top, coffee maker, full size refrigerator and freezer and all the pots, pans, utensils and spices one would need. There is also a Weber grill with charcoal.
