IATSE Local 479 4.33

Local 479 is made up of motion picture professionals working together to obtain guaranteed minimum working conditions, to maintain health insurance coverage for themselves and their families, and to protect themselves against employers who may take advantage of employees. Local 479 is not a "hiring hall", which means that each member must work diligently to obtain each motion picture job. However, the union does provide a stable footing of negotiated rates and is always available if contractual issues are encountered between its members and their employers.

Local 479 looks to the future, to improve the working skills and hire rate for its members through continuing education courses provided free of charge (or with nominal fees).
