Our story started in graduate school.

The journey began spring of 2014, when I Carry My Bag®, Inc. Founder, Jamie Rippey, was a graduate student at University of Dayton in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program. Jamie was moved by the fact that so many women don’t seek counseling due to fear, superwoman syndrome or the I am strong woman, religious beliefs, family traditions, profession or social status, or the stigma surrounding mental health.

Jamie realized that she did not overcome her own personal struggles with low-self-esteem, domestic violence, and many other bags she was carrying without faith and counseling and that's when I Carry My Bag®, Inc. was born. Since, then Jamie has spoken at churches, colleges, organizations and at conferences.

I Carry My Bag® is honored to be able to create a space for women to share their stories, and also be an inspiration to those women who may be struggling.
