Details

The Huntingdon County Arts Council (HCAC) was established in 1972 to serve the residents of Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania. A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, it receives support from local governments, the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, and its members.

The organization is governed by a board of directors, elected annually with representatives from throughout the county and varied backgrounds. Day-to-day activities are handled by our executive director.

HCAC activities vary throughout the year and individual programs and projects are subject to funding availability and continuous review. Events include our monthly artist receptions at The Art Space, including our annual Spring Thaw Exhibit for young artists, Folk College, Greenwood Furnace Folk Gathering, and Fiber ArtsFest.

While the majority of HCAC programs are geared towards the enjoyment of the general public, we also serve an active artist community in and around the county. We strive to provide employment opportunities for artists, whether at performance venues like Raystown Lake or Greenwood Furnace, or for instruction at educational events.

We also have a strong focus on promoting the arts to the youth of the county. Besides our Spring Thaw exhibit, we provide Arts in Education grants to support arts programs in our school districts, and we bring artists into the schools to perform.

Board meetings are held monthly, and are open to the membership. Please call (814) 643-6220 for more information or check the calendar for time and location information.
