HeadWinds LLC / HeadWinds Therapeytic Horsemanship was established to benefit all individuals interested in gaining knowledge within the equine field and to learn/improve riding skills. We are a PATH International Center (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship formally known as NARHA).

Special equine facilitated therapies and riding lessons are offered through HeadWinds for those dealing with hardship, physical and developmental disability, domestic violence and mental health issues. These program segments are under the direction of certified professionals and can be authorized by an individual’s acting physician or therapist.

HeadWinds operates as a general boarding facility and equestrian center providing regular horsemanship lessons and clinics. Instruction levels range from beginning horsemanship to advance. Disciplines will include, but not limited to: Western, Basic English and Centered Riding techniques.

Our services:
-PATH International Equine Services for Heroes Program: serving war veterans dealing with injury and PTSD. “PATH Intl. Equine Services for Heroes assists military veterans through services provided by PATH Intl. members and by providing leadership and guidance for equine assisted activities and therapies.
To accomplish this mission, PATH Intl. centers connect with Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Centers and Clinics, as well as individual veterans. Veterans of any age can benefit from the program and by being involved with equines.”

-Hippotherapy sessions: Equine facilitated physical therapy
Therapeutic group horsemanship lessons for the developmental and physical impaired. Continuing and Eight week sessions available

-EFL (Equine Facilitated Learning) and EFP (Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy/ mental health) These sessions are under the direct suppervision of a participants personal health professional (physical therapist, teacher, psychologist, mental health advisor, ect.)

-After school and Kids at risk programs: These programs can be under the advisement of school districts and church groups
Children’s Day Camps: summer sessions consisting of a five day enrollment. Basic ground and grooming skills; horsemanship lessons and trail rides.
Pet therapy (mini horses) to local hospitals, senior care facilities and on site sessions

-Riding clinics and educational workshops/seminars: Two to four day riding clinics like Centered Riding open; Natural horsemanship and PATH authorized workshops; One day educational seminars like Equine nutrition, Basic vet and wound care, ect. These educational seminars will be conducted by Licensed professionals within the field and riding clinics to be conducted by certified clinicians.

-Day programs for seniors / EAAT (equine-assisted activities and therapies) Activities: grooming; watching and leading; Painting, crafts and journal writing.

-Family Fun Days: A day of various activities for program participants and their families. These events can double as fundraisers and volunteer appreciation. Activities may include short trail rides, mini horsemanship lessons, games and face painting. Swimming and photo booths. BBQ lunch and raffles.

-Equine facilitated Couples Communication Retreat workshops

-PATH Certified Equine Specialist Workshops

-Volunteer programs and staff training: It is imperative to establish successful volunteer involvement with proper training and incentive.
