Hayden is a city in Kootenai County, Idaho, United States. Located in the northern portion of the state, it is a suburb of nearby Coeur d'Alene and its population was 13,294 at the 2010 census.HistoryHayden was once called "Hayden Village"; it was incorporated as a city in 1955.It is often confused as the former location of a 20acre compound for the Aryan Nations, a neo-Nazi white supremacist group, whose compound was located just North in Kootenai County.GeographyHayden is located at .According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 9.61sqmi, of which 9.60sqmi is land and 0.01sqmi is water.
