THE GOETZ THEATRE

THE GOETZ THEATRE is located at the southeast corner of the Historic Downtown Square in Monroe, Wisconsin, at 1704 11th Street and is open every day of the year. The GOETZ THEATRE features three theatres with Digital Projection.

The Historic Goetz Theatre, auditorium 1, opened September 2, 1931. It was built during the great depression having its historic facade totally reconstructed during the fall of 2006. This auditorium seats over 350 people with Massey rocking chair seats, down from its original 1000 seats, maintaining much of its historic beginnings, along with Digital Projection and the newest in high reflective screens.

GOETZ 2 opened in 1981 and was completely renovated spring 2007 then reopened 24 May featuring “Pirates of the Caribbean.” Its new entry, allowing this auditorium to feature stadium seating, is “through the historic wall” of the inner lobby of the Goetz Theatre. The entry door completely matches the stucco wall it goes through. Digital Projection is also featured here along with a new screen, bright orange rocking seats, blue walls and floor with bright green trim and safety rails.

GOETZ 3 opened 14 December 1994, with “Star Trek” and features Digital Projection with a sound that really rocks. This sound system, the first of our three sound systems that we designed and built ourselves, was designed to match this auditorium and to which the other two theatres’ sound systems were based. The very first belt driven projector in Wisconsin was featured here and now stands in our lobby, whereas all others were gear driven.

G1, G2 & G3 all feature the newest in DIGITAL PROJECTION equipment for sight and sound.

The GOETZ THEATRE features our famous fresh popped popcorn with real butter if you so choose, a wide variety of candy, bottled water and the Pepsi line of soft drinks.

The GOETZ THEATRE, along with SKY-VU DRIVE-IN, has a “no carry-in policy” of outside food and beverages. We have and we will ask you to leave our theatres, without a refund, if you decide to bring something into our establishment.

For the consideration of all others around you the USE OF CELL PHONES IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED whenever you are in an auditorium. Come to the theatre for movie entertainment, not to converse or text on your phone.

Remember, keep your feet off the chair backs at all times.

Refunds allowed up to the first 12 minutes after the projector starts. Be sure to bring cash as The GOETZ THEATRE doesn’t accept credit cards.

THANK YOU, AND ENJOY!

SKY-VU DRIVE-IN

SKY-VU is located 1.5 miles south of Monroe, WI, along the east side of Wisconsin State Highway 69, opened 29 May 1954. 20 April 2012 DIGITAL PROJECTION was introduced with the digital soundtrack being broadcast through Full Spectrum FM stereo sound, while offering an all gravel lot, massive high reflective screen, the brightest and sharpest image, and the always delicious, fresh, hot, homemade four cheese blend SKY-VU Pizza.

SKY-VU also offers our famous fresh popped popcorn, grilled: angus all beef hamburgers, “foot-longs,” chicken, and Angus 1/4 lb. all-beef hotdogs, nachos, pretzels & bread sticks - plain, with cheese, or marinara sauce, candy, iced cold sodas, SKY-VU Lemonade and Siberian Chill Slushies.

SKY-VU HAS A “NO CARRY-IN POLICY” FOR ALL FOODS & ALL BEVERAGES, this means half bottles of soda, left overs from somewhere else, etc., as SKY-VU Offers 2 DIGITAL Movies for the price of one. Outside foods & beverages are not allowed into indoor movie theatres and other venues and not allowed on the grounds of SKY-VU. TO HONOR OUR PATRONS WHO FOLLOW OUR POLICY BY SUPPORTING US WITH No Outside Foods and No Outside Beverages we converse with those not following it by asking them to give up their outside food & beverage items at the gate or we ask them to leave - without a refund if found on the grounds. That’s our policy and other Drive-In’s policies. Unopened items will be donated to the Green County Food Pantry. THERE ARE NOW ONLY 357 DRIVE-INS, down from over 4,000, IN THE U.S.A., soon less due to the expense to convert to Digital Projection. As of now, according to N.A.T.O. SKY-VU is one of only 36 drive-ins in the U.S. to be Digital. SKY-VU receives no financial support like the indoors do to make the Digital conversion. Drive-ins will go DARK if they don’t go Digital. If SKY-VU wasn’t digital it too would be dark after this season. Our Digital systems pays for more than two indoor Digital systems. THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED COOPERATION, UNDERSTANDING, SUPPORT & PATRONAGE!

PARKING: Our stalls are designed for two cars each, and only cars, not one car and not for you to place your chairs or to sit on the ground next to your car. At another drive-in people were struck by a car sitting on the ground next to their car. You are to park your car with 15” to a pole so that two cars fit into each stall. Sitting may only take place in front of your vehicle, not where cars are to be able to park. Sitting atop vehicle roof tops is not allowed.

We guarantee the first show. Refunds allowed up to the first 12 minutes after the projector starts. We’re open in all types of weather which is the risk that we all take. Be sure to bring cash as SKY-VU DOES NOT accept credit cards, passes or coupons of any kind, which means Goetz Theatre Gift Passes do not work at SKY-VU either.

SKY-VU also reminds you to please leave your pets at home for the sake of others and your precious friend.
