Gilbert High School is the only high school in Gilbert, Story County, Iowa. The district covers the city of Gilbert, northern Ames, and the surrounding rural areas.AthleticsGilbert High School is a member of the Heart of Iowa Conference. Teams sponsored by the school in fall include football, cross-country, and volleyball. During winter, the school sponsors basketball and wrestling. There are also hockey and swim teams in Ames that many Gilbert students compete on, but they are not school-affiliated. The spring sports lineup consists of golf, track, and soccer.
