FLOC offers ten primary programs dedicated to enriching the lives of children in the greater Dayton area, listed and described as follows.

BABY SAFE AND SOUND: FLOC strives to enhance parent and child development through projects, education and awareness.

BETSY HOOBLER SKILLS CENTER: The Skills Center offers tutoring services to children in the Dayton area. Tutors and school supplies, computer labs and programming are available based on the needs of the student.

BIRTHDAY CLUB: This program is designed for children from newborn to age 18 who are in foster care. Children receive a card and age-appropriate gift for their birthday.

CHRISTMAS FOR KIDS: Every year, FLOC provides new toys and gifts for children in foster care and area children in need. This goal is achieved through donations, fundraising and volunteer support. This past year we served over 1600 children in the greater Dayton area.

COMFORT A CHILD: This program provides duffle bags to children when they are brought into foster care or are placed in a new home.

FLOC BOUTIQUE: FLOC provides formal attire for teens to wear at special events throughout the year. Through written request and adult recommendation, jewelry, clothing and makeup artists are available.

LONGITUDINAL STUDY: In the fall of 2012, fifteen fourth and fifth grade students will engage in a longitudinal study. These are students who have been selected because of academic excellence, which differs from the population with which we typically work. These children are not abused, neglected or in foster care; rather, these children have been chosen by their school counselors and principals as academically talented. FLOC will offer financial, academic and consistent support as they go through their years in school. We will reward good work, we will offer needed support, and eventually we will choose our college scholarship recipients from this promising population of youth.

READ TO ME: FLOC provides volunteers to read to children in area schools. This opportunity provides quality reading time for our children, and each child will take home a copy of the book shared.

SPONSOR-A-WISH: FLOC "grants" wishes for children who have requested assistance in attending extracurricular activities and opportunities throughout the year that government funds may not cover.

TOOLS FOR SCHOOL: In collaboration with Crayons for Classrooms, school supplies are provided to equip foster children with the proper tools for school.
