This business started when I built a chicken coop for my wife. Our neighbor’s dog ate our chickens after we had, had them for about a year and she decided to sell the coop and have more chickens at a later date. The coop sold! So I decided to make another one and when that sold too I decided to go into business! I called the business Fishville Coops and More because the 40 acres that we live on used to be the town of Fishville. I was loving the creativity I was able to enjoy every day in my pole barn and as the business grew and we started getting orders I decided to quit my job in Detroit (for a power line company) to stay home and run Fishville Coops and More full time!
My rough sawn lumber is from a Mennonite neighbor that owns a saw mill down the road. Each coop is unique as I do not use blue prints, I can duplicate coops that I have already done or one from a photo you may have, but it will always be unique and you are able to choose where doors and egg beds are placed.
