FAU College for Design and Social Inquiry 3.52

The College for Design and Social Inquiry is dedicated to promoting safe, healthy and sustainable communities through education, research and design. We are a unique configuration of professional programs addressing social justice, design, public policy and planning in and for communities. We strive to develop solutions through the integration and synergy of diverse disciplines. In doing so, the College prepares future leaders, scholars, and innovators to advocate for solutions through action.

There are five academic units in our College. The School of Architecture, the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice, the School of Public Administration, the School of Social Work, and the School of Urban and Regional Planning. Programs from these schools are offered at four of our FAU campuses.

Bachelor’s degrees in Architecture, Criminal Justice, Public Management, Public Safety Administration, Social Work, Urban Design, and Urban and Regional Planning are offered by the College. Also offered are master’s degrees in Criminology & Criminal Justice, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Social Work, and Urban and Regional Planning as well as a Ph.D. in Public Administration and a Doctor of Social Work.

The college is also home to several research and service centers including: the Visual Planning Technology Lab, the John Scott Dailey Florida Institute of Government, the Institute for Design and Construction, the MetroLAB Collaborative, the Child Welfare Institute.

The College for Design and Social Inquiry consists of a diverse group of faculty and staff members from various domestic and international backgrounds, this diversity enhances the teaching, research, and service provided to our students and community.
