It is located along U.S. Route 40, the National Road, about southeast of Pittsburgh, and is the closest settlement to Fort Necessity. It is also home to the 5-star Nemacolin Woodlands Resort and the New Meadow Run Bruderhof, a Christian community with over 250 members.
