Master Tom Hogue is the owner and founder of Elite Fitness and Martial Arts in New Cumberland, PA, which formally open it's doors to the public on April 4th, 2016.

Tom began his journey in the martial arts at the age of 16, studying at Cambell's school of Tae Kwon Do in Dillsburg PA from 1987-1989 achieving the green belt rank.
After high school graduation in 1989, Tom moved to Tennessee for a period of five months and joined Shin's Tae Kwon Do to continue his training. Upon returning to Pennsylvania, Tom enrolled at Bob's Iron Fist Society in Manchester, PA. He studied from 1991-1993, while also training as an amateur full contact kick-boxer and achieving a record of 6-1. He successfully tested for his Sho-Dan black belt on January 24, 1994.

In the spring of 1994 Tom founded a second location for Bob's Iron Fist Society, in Dillsburg, PA. The school was later renamed to Hogue's Black Belt Society in 1995. Sensei Hogue successfully operated this champion caliber school until late 1999. During his tenure as sensei, he rose to the rank of Yon-dan (4th degree black belt) while grooming some of the area's premier karatekas. Sensei Hogue also completed a personal goal to train and formally test for his Tae-Kwon-Do black belt from the Harrisburg Martial Arts Academy on January 4th, 1997. This allowed him to finish what he had started as a 16-year-old boy in 1987.

From 2000-2015 Tom endured ACL knee surgeries to both knees, and continued solo training when possible. From 2007-2015 Tom received private continued training from Shihan Robert Shortlidge, and rose to the rank of Shichi Dan (7th degree black belt). From 2013 to 2016 Master Hogue provided personal training to a few select new and former students in his home dojo in Lewisberry, PA.

Tom has competed in numerous tournaments across the country winning over 130 competitions and many Grand Champion awards for kumite, weapons, and open hand katas.
It is his personal belief that competition, challenging our comfort zones, and conquering personal goals, is a very important part of developing as a karateka and personal development. This can only be taught to students if one can be a good example to those around him as well.

Practice before preaching.
