Welcome to Element Photography!

My name is Sharon. I am a wife & mother of 4 fur babies (Delilah, Iggy, Sampson, and Jezebel). I am a small town girl from Soldotna, Alaska that met a small town man from Kodiak, Alaska and we agreed to make Anchorage our permanent home and we LOVE it! All the different foods, and outdoors activates that Alaska has to offer all in driving distance, with so many wonderful opportunities to meet new people make it amazing.

I have always loved to connect with people one on one. Many of my friends would say that in a big group, I was the quiet one. That lasted until I was given my very first DSLR camera… Who knew that a tool like that could be liberating!

I am passionate about capturing memories and creating epic pictures for my clients. Sometimes I might even embarrass myself by jumping up and down with a crazy grin on my face when I know captured the perfect shot for them.

I specialize in seniors, engagements, maternity, and portraits. I also really enjoy after-wedding shoots with couples to capture those memorable moments without the stress of the wedding day. It really is a ton of fun to get dressed up again!

I graduated from the University of Alaska, Southeast Sitka with my degree in Health Information Management. Long shot from studying photography, but I have always had a passion for beautiful pictures and continuing education. When I finally picked up a DSLR and found that I could create beautiful pictures my need to know more grew. I started reading books, magazines and everything I could find online. Finally I reached out and found many learning opportunities with Ray Bulson in Anchorage, interned with Gutierrez Photography in Eagle River, Artistic Puppy of Soldotna, and was also mentored by the wonderful Julie Paisley of Nashville, Tennessee. Without them giving me the hard truth at times and encouraging me to go further, I would not be where I am today.
