Elder Paws started out as a senior dog rescue in 2012; in 2016 we discovered that many senior dog owners living on a fixed income were unable to properly care for their senior companion animals and felt they had no choice but to surrender them to local area shelters or allow their pet's health to deteriorate. In an effort to reduce the number of older pets entering the shelter system and improve quality of life for both senior dogs and their owners we developed the Pandora Fund, an innovative pet retention program that offers a positive alternative to surrendering older dogs; we also changed our name from Rescue to Foundation. We are a 501c3 CA Corporation (#45-5291667), all donations are tax deductible, staffed 100% by volunteers.
