Dr. Mark E. Moran: Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon 3.06

Pediatric orthopedics deals with the diagnosis and treatment of growing bones, joints and muscles. This discipline uses many different treatment techniques to improve the quality of life for children. Such techniques include observation of growth, braces and splints, and occasional surgery. Dr. Mark Moran is a board-certified, fellowship-trained pediatric orthopedic surgeon with more than 25 years experience providing orthopedic care to children, teens and young adults.

Originally from Toronto, Canada, Dr. Moran has lived in Chicago for the last 20 years, recently moving to South Florida. He obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Western Ontario, followed by his MD degree in 1986 from the University of Toronto College of Medicine.

Dr. Moran completed a clerkship as well as an internship in comprehensive surgery at the Toronto General Hospital, and in 1993 successfully completed his residency in surgery with the University of Toronto. Dr. Moran then subspecialized in pediatric orthopedics and scoliosis surgery at San Diego's Children's Hospital. He is board certified in both the United States and Canada.

Dr. Moran has specialized training in all types of pediatric orthopedic care issues, including fracture care, sports medicine, treatment of sprains, treatment of tendon and cartilage injuries, hip dysplasia, scoliosis (surgical and non-surgical care), congenital deformities, club foot and/or bowing of the legs care and casting. Additionally, Dr. Moran performs at-hospital ultrasounds for hip dysplasia in newborns and provides all pertinent follow-up care.

Dr. Moran is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Medical Association, Canadian Medical Association, Chicago Medical Society, College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, Illinois State Medical Society, Ontario Medical Association and Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons.
