Down Range Tactical Training & Outdoors is operated by Cris Hatcher and Bob Arnall. Cris and Bob both serve as law enforcement officers, a profession they have dedicated their lives to. Aside from their families and careers, Cris and Bob have an extreme passion for the outdoors. They enjoy chasing trophy whitetails, the elusive turkey, and predators of the wild. In addition, they enjoy shooting sports. The combination of these passions led to the founding of Down Range Tactical (DRT).

The primary training to be offered by DRT Training & Outdoors:

Kansas Concealed Carry Handgun Training Course
-This is the basic training course that is required by the Kansas Attorney General to obtain your Kansas Conceal Carry Permit

Basic Handgun
-This class will teach you the fundamentals of shooting the semi-automatic handgun. This would include the Fundamentals of Marksmanship, Auto Weapon Malfunction Clearing, and Weapon Reloading Techniques

Advanced Concealed Carry Handgun
-Weapon Concealment Techniques, Concealed Carry Shooting Techniques, Reacting To Sudden Threats, and Combat Marksmanship

Tactical Shotgun
-Fundamentals of Marksmanship with the Tactical Shotgun, Proper Ammo Choice, Zeroing Techniques, Building the Home Defense Shotgun

Basic Rifle
-Fundamentals of Rifle Marksmanship, Zeroing Techniques, Weapon Concealment, Building Range Data Cards

Private Instruction
-Private instruction on the weapons system of your choice or training material

A brief bio about Cris Hatcher

Cris Hatcher was born in Baxter Springs, Kansas and has lived in Southeast Kansas the majority of his life graduating from Columbus Unified High School in 1996. Cris is currently obtaining his Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Central Christian College of Kansas and is set to graduate in the fall of 2013. Cris was introduced to firearms early in his life through a passion of hunting and shooting with his family and friends. Cris is an avid big game and turkey hunter. Cris is also an accomplished archer. He spent several years in the late 90’s competing in local archery competitions winning 3-D target competitions and indoor 300 leagues.

Cris began a lifelong dream of a career in law enforcement in 2000 with the Columbus Police Department. In 2003 he joined the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office where he worked until 2007. While employed at the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office he obtained certification through the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center as a Police Firearms Instructor. After obtaining this certification he served as a department Firearms Instructor, Range Master, and SWAT Commander for the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office. He also obtained his certification as a Sniper during this time and served as a Sniper as well. In 2007 Cris joined the Pittsburg Police Department where he currently serves as the Commander of the Investigations Division, Special Response Team Commander, Range Master, and Sniper.

Since obtaining his certification as a Police Firearms Instructor Cris has taught over 50 firearms training sessions to local law enforcement. In addition he has been invited to the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center to teach firearms to new officers attending the basic law enforcement academy a little over 20 times. Cris has also been invited to serve as a guest instructor for Officer Survival at the Kansas Law Enforcement Training on multiple occasions.
