About Emily:

Emily's true love and eye for beauty, fashion, and design began as far back as playing dress-up and make-believe when she was a little girl. Today, with over fifteen years of experience in the beauty industry, she is still in awe of all things beautiful.

Ms. Joy studied Interior Design, Graphic Design, Fashion, and Fine Art Photography at both Kendall College of Art and Design in Michigan and SACI in Florence, Italy. A desire to expand her knowledge of beauty, skincare, makeup, and design led her to an accreditation for Esthetics at Douglas J Aveda Institute.

Fresh of out school, determined and eager, Emily applied for her dream job and was selected, out of hundreds of other estheticians, to be the one and only Anastasia Brow Artist in Michigan. She received brow shaping and artistry training with celebrity eyebrow legend Anastasia Soare (Anastasia of Beverly Hills), the woman behind the eyebrows of Sharon Stone and Penelope Cruz.

Her high-end clientele expanded overnight with customers traveling from all parts of the Midwest to benefit from Emily's signature brow artistry, taking her career to the next level.

After working with Anastasia’s team, Emily found herself on the management side of the luxury spa business. She has both performed services and managed at some of the most prestigious spas and salons in the nation, including the Four Seasons Hotel Miami, Ritz Carlton DC, Bliss Spa at the W Hotel DC, and Celadon Spa and Salon DC.

With her beauty knowledge, design education, business experience, and connections in the beauty industry, Ms. Joy chose Washington, D.C., to follow her heart and launch District Dollhouse.

About Lizzeth:

When Lizzeth Gutierrez was just a little girl, her love for art, beauty and aesthetics blossomed. Born into the Ecuadorian culture, which is known for art, architecture, and sculpture, she developed her creative eye at a very young age. It was then she learned to refine her artistic skill for color, tone, texture, symmetry, and precision and shaped her into the successful beauty artist she is today. Her strong hand-eye coordination and ability to visualize her client's needs, help to create a desired look from start to completion. Her forefront involvement as an artist within the beauty industry and passion for innovation are what keep her skills contemporary, polished and professional.

Lizzeth is devoted to making her clients feel beautiful inside and out, and sharing her knowledge of all things beauty. She specializes in Makeup Artistry and Spray Tanning with over 10 years of experience within the beauty and customer service industry. Her career began as a Manager for Benefit Cosmetics where she worked with countless people of all ages, ethnicities, skin tones, and facial structures. It was during this time she not only mastered her artistic skills, but also sharpened her business acumen.

She has always dreamed of becoming an entrepreneur doing what she loves. Soon after her business management experience, she chose to take her career to the next level pursuing her Master Esthetics accreditation. This education gave her the knowledge and skill set for skin care regimen, making her your go to girl for flawless looks and healthy glowing skin. Upon completing her schooling, Lizzeth founded LG Beauty Muse, a mobile spray tan and beauty service company servicing the DC Metropolitan clientele. Her clients come from all walks of life. She’s worked with the Miss United States Organization, Univision Washington DC, as well as various designers and photographers. Most recently she has taken up an apprenticeship to pursue permanent makeup, further developing her skills and combining her talents into the Permanent Makeup industry.

Lizzeth has received formal brow artistry training by master eyebrow artist Emily Joy. Emily trained Lizzeth in the artistic styles of International Microblading Master Branko Babic, and celebrity eyebrow legend Anastasia Soare (better known as Anastasia of Beverly Hills, the woman behind the eyebrows of Sharon Stone, and Penelope Cruz).

Her fierce passion and her drive for self-discovery and self-development give her a limitless ceiling as an artist.
