The DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department is a law enforcement agency serving all of DeSoto County, including the incorporated municipalities of Southaven, Horn Lake, Olive Branch, and Hernando. The Sheriff’s Department also includes the DeSoto County Jail which houses offenders arrested throughout DeSoto County. Sheriff Bill Rasco was elected in 2008 as the Sheriff of DeSoto County and he currently oversees all operations.

The DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department is a county-wide law enforcement agency including the Divisions of Patrol, Traffic, Fugitive, Civil Process, Criminal Investigations, Narcotics, Aviation, Court Services, Communications, Juvenile, and School Resources, as well as the County Jail. The Department serves all of DeSoto County which is an area of 496 square miles and includes a population of over 166,000 residents.

The Department has been accredited with the Mississippi State Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission since 2011.

Citizens visiting our Administrative Offices are able to file requests for copies of incident and/or motor vehicle crash reports, and report incidents and crimes.
