What is a "Community" church? And what is a "Church of the Brethren"?
We are a part of the Church of the Brethren, one of the oldest Christian groups in America. It began in Germany in the 1700’s. If you want to know what we believe, read the New Testament of the Bible. Or, just look at how we live. “Brethren” might sound like an old-fashioned name. It is. “Brethren” might also sound like “men only,” but our church includes and welcomes both men and women in all levels of leadership. We try to continue the work of Jesus, peacefully, simply, and together.
You can find out more at the Church of the Brethren Home Page or the Oregon/Washington District Homepage.
We are also a community church. This means we don’t think we have all the answers, we are happy to cooperate with other churches and community groups. We try to avoid narrow sectarianism. For us, the most important thing is trusting and following Jesus as Savior and Lord.
