Clinton is a city in Laurens County, South Carolina, United States. The population was 8,490 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Greenville - Mauldin - Easley Metropolitan Statistical Area. Clinton is the home of Presbyterian College.HistoryClinton was first settled by Scots-Irish immigrants two decades before the American Revolutionary War.
