Church of the Messiah was birthed as an Episcopal church and later became Anglican. In 2006, we became multi-denominational, embracing people from ALL faith journeys. Our oversight is at the local level, as the staff works with the Board of the Directors like a husband/wife team. Both having slightly different authority but are accountable to one another in Christ. For example, the pastor and staff oversee spending, but the Board approves the financial priorities. The Board doesn't work for the pastor, but the pastor doesn't work for the Board. We partner together in Christ to serve in this local setting of Cherokee County. Fred remains a licensed and ordained Anglican Priest.
