A vision has become a reality at the Carnegie Community Arts Center, known as the "Grande Dame" of Somerset, Kentucky. What was once the Post Office and then the Public Library, is now the home of local artists and other arts organizations. The Carnegie Community Arts Center is a non-profit arts organization whose mission is to promote the arts through entertainment and education.

The Carnegie houses local artists who give lessons in painting and drawing. Violin, guitar, and vocal lessons are also available.

The Carnegie also has regular live music events featuring local musicians including The Lake Cumberland Jammers every Tuesday night. The Blues Society also hosts "Blues and Brats" currently every other Wednesday night, but will be every other Thursday night starting Jan. 15, 2015.

We also have a gift shop, The Yellow Umbrella, with hand made fine art and crafts by local artists inside.

You can book us too! Our Federal Room is great for wedding rehearsal dinners, receptions, baby showers, luncheons, etc. and the foyer is beautiful, complete with crystal chandeliers, making any event truly magical. The Bistro downstairs is decorated in a French cafe style, painted by a few of our resident artists. Rent this space for lunches and dinners for a more enchanting ambiance. Our brilliant chef can prepare delectable cuisines to satisfy any cultural palate.

Each month we have an exhibition supporting local artists. Are you an artist? The Carnegie would like to display your work, just make an appointment by calling the number below.

Become a member! Enjoy discounts in the gift shop and also receive a percentage off rentals and events held at the Carnegie. Also as a member you will receive private invitations to functions. The Carnegie would appreciate your support!

Call us today! Our number is 606-677-0333. We are open Tuesday-Friday from 11am-5pm.
