The camp corporation was originally founded by three counties, Gallia, Jackson and Lawrence, when the county agents from those counties put their salaries up as collateral to purchase the camp in the late 1940s. Since then, six additional counties have joined the corporation, with the county 4-H Programs from all nine counties sharing ownership of the camp. The nine counties are: Adams, Brown, Gallia, Highland, Jackson, Lawrence, Meigs, Pike, Scioto and Vinton.
