A division of the Boy Scouts of America, the Aviation Exploring Posts are dedicated to leadership training and career opportunities. Post 8 is the oldest registered Exploring post in the United States. Young people are taught to pilot and maintain aircraft and explore careers in the aviation industry. Through a flight operations corporation, Post 8 owns two aircraft, a Cessna 150 and a Cherokee 180. Alumni of Post 8 include commercial, corporate, and military pilots, aviation mechanics, airport managers and aviation lawyers.
