In 1958, with the merger of St. Ambrose Academy and Immaculate Conception Academy, Assumption opened its doors as a coinstitutional facility. From the beginning, Assumption’s Catholic identity has given it a special spirit. Each day begins with prayer in the knowledge that all is done for the “Glory of God.” For over 50 years, Assumption has been faithful to this vision making it unique to the community. Assumption High School is supported by nine Catholic parishes in the Quad City area and is governed by a school board of fourteen members. Assumption is accredited by the State of Iowa Department of Education.
