Amityville Fire Department 4.24

The "Amityville Fire Department" Chartered in 1905 as a Department of the Village of Amityville, consists of 3 Hose Companies, 1 Ladder Company and 1 Fire Police Company all of which respond as Fire Fighting units within the limits of The Village of Amityville (As well as mutual aid calls to surrounding districts upon request) and "The Amityville Fire Department Emergency Squad" as a unit responding to Rescue and Emergency Medical requests. The AFD is comprised of no more than 235 Volunteer members, each assigned to one of the a fore mentioned Fire Companies. Members of The AFD Emergency Squad are required to be members of one of the Fire Companies and volunteer for service with the Emergency Squad in addition to their assigned Fire related duties.
