Established in 1948, AHTS Architects is a registered, mid-size architectural firm located in Waterloo, IA. As a multi-disciplinary team of design professionals, AHTS offers quality, client-centered design, planning and construction administrative services throughout northeast and north central Iowa and now expanding into other regions, including southern Minnesota.

Over the years, ownership of the firm has transitioned from one generation of architects to the next and this strong history of generational ties has continued the founder’s commitment to excellent service while building on the diversity of services we are able to provide. Our firm has successfully completed over one-thousand projects, ranging in scope and type. While a current focus has been Continuing Care Retirement Communities and Senior Housing, our recent projects also include religious and educational facilities, historic renovation, commercial, residential and landscape designs.

The firm is managed and owned by architects Mardy Holst, Duane Svoboda, Steve Trost, Jamie Castle and landscape architect, Larry Kurtz.
