THE SPACE

The House:

SLEEPS 8 IN 4 BEDROOMS

The Old Stores is a unique extensive country cottage set in the picturesque rolling hills of East Sussex. The ample grounds provide an abundance of outdoor activities for adults and children alike be it lazing by the pool on a warm summers day, playing a game of rounders, spotting wildlife in the pond or simply sipping a glass of wine in the courtyard, you will soon find yourself in your own little piece of heaven.

The large country home itself provides you with 4 beautiful bedrooms. Each room dressed to perfection with fresh white linen and towels.
The master suite comes with a king sized bed and lounge area with characteristic singer sewing machine. There is a further double bedroom, king size bedroom with its own sink and a twin room also with its own sink all on the first floor.

There are two very comfortable bathrooms at either end of the landing, one with is a family bathroom and the other with a shower.
The communal areas of the house create an exquisite space for dining, entertaining, reading or just cozying up by the multitude of fires. The large multi spaced sitting room boasts a 3 meter long rustic Elm dining table perfect for large banquets as well as a reading area and large comfy L shaped sofa all warmed by the best Mosro log burner. In the hall there's an open hearth and the Kitchen a Rayburn which in the winter months heats the water for the radiators, creating a down to earth enriching experience. In the winter months we will supply plenty of fuel to keep you toasty warm.

The fully equipped kitchen is the heart of the house and is a spectacularly cosy place in the winter and cool and bright in the summer, with large dining table, pantry and leather kitchen sofa.

Outside there is a wonderful sun terrace, surrounded by flowers and lawn with a grand eucalyptus tree. There is also a small wildlife pond to capture the imagination of the young and old. This garden is perfect for summer BBQs and cocktails by the pond.

As if the holiday couldn't get any better, at Wyldewood we believe in green energy and have a solar heated swimming pool for you, your kids, family and friends to enjoy to your wildest dreams. The pool is surrounded by a hedge for everyone's safety but please keep an eye on the little ones.

The Luxury Camping:

Our two boutique bell tents will wow you at first sight. Upon waking up you open your door to uninterrupted rolling countryside, the birds singing and the sunlight dappling the canvas. This experience really takes you back to nature, with all the luxuries of a boutique hotel. Each tent is set up with fresh crisp white linen, luxury goose down duvets and pillows. Sheepskins adorn the floors and woollen blankets a plenty. Each tent has its own log burner with plenty of wood supplied to keep you warm and toasty throughout those crisp summer nights. And if you were ever worried about still being chilly we provide hotties for everyone and electric blanks for each bed!

Each bell tent is set up with 1 king bed and the option of 2 single mattresses on the floor.

Further more the beauty is not only limited to inside the tents. We also have a 16ft tipi kids area or chill out area to really soak up the enchanting atmosphere. A luxury shepherds hut bathroom with Belfast sink, walk in wet room shower and flushing toilet to make you feel right at home. And the communal area we call " the wave". At the centre of the barrel is a long wooden table and benches, ready for banquets a plenty. With the fully equipped kitchen and BBQ it will be a pleasure to create epic feasts for all your friends and family.

In the far corner you will find our pièce de résistance - the raised octagon viewing platform to really make the most of the spectacular uninterrupted countryside view. Upon the platform we have a fire pit for the family to enjoy in the long summer evenings, toasting marshmallows and singing songs around the camp fire.

As a complementary bonus on your arrival we would like you to really get into the swing of things and enjoy a glass of cool Prosecco by the pool, sitting in the long butter cup filled grass, on your private platform looking over the beautiful vista or around the fire pit at night surrounded by atmospheric festoon lights, with the ones you love.

So as you can see Wyldewood retreats is the perfect place to create memories of a life time be it for large family holidays, luxury countryside hen parties, wedding guest accommodation or birthday parties with friends and family. You won't find a better retreat which everyone will enjoy.

Interaction with Guests

We aim to make your stay at Wyldewood Retreats as comfortable as possible and really want you to feel at home. We will welcome you into the property and 'show you the ropes' but after that the house and Luxury Camping is all yours. Fear not though, if there is anything you need during your stay we will be happy to help.

The Neighbourhood

There are loads of lovely things to do around here. We are in the perfect location for either seaside or countryside activities.
There are a vast array of beautiful country walks from right outside our front door where you will find yourself strolling across the rolling countryside of East Sussex, at the foot of the South Downs National Park. If you find yourself a little parched than there are a great selection of pubs in the area within walking distance. Our favourite pub is called the Black Duck which is a 5 min drive from us. There is also a lovely local pub in our village with friendly staff and good food.
I will leave a couple of OS maps for you to navigate yourselves across the endless fields.
The closest village to us has a great castle in it called Herstmonceux castle, which has lovely walks around it and the castle is pretty magnificent. There is also a science centre here which is really fun for the kids.
Further afield is Bedgebury which has a great mountain biking trail and go ape course for the kids and big kids.
On the coast our favourite beach is called Birling Gap, and very close to this is the famous seven sisters national park.
Our favourite closest town is Hastings Old Town where there are loads of great pubs and shops. And of course you have Brighton and Hove a short hop and a skip away.
We are very happy to point you in the right direction for any activities you desire.

Getting Around

Off road parking is available. However we do have limited parking in the winter so you may need to park on the road outside the house if there are a lot of cars. Please mention when booking the number of cars you will be arriving in.

Other Things to Note

The Old Stores is a home as well as a holiday home, so please be respectful of our neighbours.

Guest access

Guests have private access to the whole house, gardens,swimming pool and sun terrace.
On the odd occasion we may be able to rent the house and luxury camping separately so do get in contact if you would only like to rent one or the other.

Interaction with guests

Guests will have contact details of help if needed throughout there stay. If not guests will be left alone to enjoy there stay in peace and quiet.
