Under 17s driving Lessons at Weymouth Park & Ride

2nd2none Driving School-Under 17s Driving Education Program.

The program is designed to provide potential new drivers, 12 to 17 years the opportunity to gain practical driving experience and develop theoretical safe driving skills and understanding before actually applying for a driving licence at 17.

The programme is a mixture of theory and practical driver training on a special off road training area where all training will be carried out by specialist driving instructors.

The modular programme consists of 6 sessions at the end of each session you will be given a work book and a report with a certificate to record personal progress.

Starting with

Module 1
You will learn the basics of a modern motor car plus what when and how to use the controls followed by a practical driving session to move off, change gear and steer round a slalom course forwards and in reverse.

Module 2
We will introduce the theory elements of Safe Driving, including the Highway Code and Driver
Responsibilities followed by an introduction to basic Road Craft skills and development of a system of car control.

Module 3
We will introduce basic car maintenance including how to check tyres, lights and items under the bonnet, for example oil water and brake fluid. This session will also focus on developing practical elements of driving and work through more complex road craft skills including observation links and hazard perception skills.

Module 4
We will introduce you to the statutory theory and hazard perception test and examine how distractions, such as mobile phones and passenger interruptions, can effect concentration. More practical driving will be included in this session and reversing exercises, including Parallel and Bay Park, will be practiced.

Module 5
We will introduce key principles of correct cornering techniques including limit points and how to get the best balance into and through corners.

Module 6
We will develop understanding of the theory of skids and how to avoid them. The theory will be followed by practice in skid control the final module will conclude with a mock test of theory, Highway Code and basic road craft

You will receive a certificate to confirm that you have completed the 6 modules and when you have received your provisional driving licence that you will be ready to gain practical road experience in preparation for taking and passing DVSA driving test.
