Ugly Pig Farm came into being in 2013
Our pigs have access to out-door foraging and enjoy as natural a life style as possible.
Luna, aka Ugly Pig, is one of ten breeding sows who will in turn receive the attention of Horatio, our home bred Saddleback/Middle White cross boar, unless they are related, in which case they will receive the attentions of Samson, a "Blue" boar.Their offspring are sold live as weaners from eight weeks old or grown on to be turned into premium pork products.
We are currently producing sausages (85%meat), un-smoked bacon, gammon joints and gammon steaks.
Our free-ranging bees produce excellent honey and our small flock of free-range, heritage hens produce deliciouseggs. Our three pairs of Embden and Sebastopol geese will be producing eggs (which we may incubate to produce goslings) next spring. "The Lad", our handsome Lavender turkey stag and his wife, a beautiful Norfolk Black turkey hen will be producing more eggs next spring and we hope they will rear some poults.
As time allows we hope to breed with our Golden Gurnsey x Anglo Nubian goats to extend our range to include goat products.
