Salt has the following properties:
Antibacterial
Anti-inflammatory
Mucolytic effects: loosens excessive mucus and speeds up mucociliary transport
Removes pathogen agents (airborne pollen)
Reduces IgE level (immune system oversensitivity)
While relaxing in one of our treatment rooms, customers inhale the dry, salt-enriched air deep down into the lungs, where the healing benefits do their greatest healing. The salt loosens the mucus, which begins to clear quickly, and inflammation is reduced, which makes more room in the airways for you to breathe. Symptoms subside, sometimes for up to 12 months.
A number of enquiries have also came in about what you have to wear for your treatment. If you have respiratory conditions then you can wear what ever you feel comfortable in, if you have any skin conditions then we recommend shorts and t-shirt so your skin can benefit from the most exposure to the salt. On entry to the room you are provided with shoe covers and hair nets to ensure the room stays clean and sterile. After that you just sit in one of our comfortable loungers and relax while the salt therapy takes effect.
