The Mount Pavilion and Gardens 3.85

With superb views, reaching as far as the Lake District on a clear day, the Mount is the perfect place to sit and admire the vast beauty of the North West coastline. When the conditions are right, usually close to sunset on a summer night, you can see the hills of the Isle of Man approximately 60 miles away across the Irish Sea.

This iconic landmark is undergoing a revival as we take the landscape back to its original 19th century design.

The seaward side of The Mount’s Grade II registered gardens are being restored, starting with bringing back the railings that topped the esplanade wall. At the same time the shelters will be restored, pathways repaired and resurfaced and heritage benches added.

Wyre Council is also working on an initial bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund for money to transform the landward side including pavilion, rose garden and gate lodge.

The pavilion is also being used as a community arts hub by LeftCoast, offering lots of family activities to get involved in.
