Baking cakes and being surrounded by fantastic fabrics are two of my favourite things!!

My most favourite is spending time with my toddler.

Having a dream to be able to work more flexibly around my family has lead me to stepping out into the big wide world of working from home!!!

Baking cakes is such an enjoyable thing to do, and I bake far too many for me and my family to eat all by ourselves I decided it was about time I started to look into making cakes for other people. From lemon drizzle cake to peekaboo battenburg, muffins to dinosaur birthday cakes - I'll happily bake for your celebrations, Sunday afternoon tea for the relatives or just a cake for cake sake!!!

As well as baking, I've got a bit of a liking for pretty fabrics and sewing. To start off with I'm keeping it simple and focussing on handy makes which I can make to order without too long a wait for you! Longer term I really want to delve deeper into sewing - making more creative items for children - having found it really hard to get hold of a nice costume for my 18 month old daughter to go to a fancy dress party I decided to make her one - and now have the making bug even more!! The party theme was Princesses and Knights - now, being a little bit of a rebel at times, it was decided that rather than stick with the stereotype, my little one would go as a knight - but we would keep it feminine - she was a Knight in a dress with a lovely turquoise blue and spotty pink colour scheme!! She looked a picture and loved her costume!!

With this in mind, I'm practicing and designing, making and testing out some ideas so watch this space, or get in touch if you have a request!!

Having used cloth nappies for my daughter since she was born, I have been introduced to the wonderful world of PUL, the lovely patterns and the versatility of the material. So, using this lovely stuff to make changing mats, wet bags and bits and bobs seems like a great idea too - I'm experimenting with some ideas and will hope to have some pictures and products on here soon!
