“Surrey’s best kept secret” we have heard customers say, many of whom have lived in an around the immediate area for years and “never knew we were here”.

Indeed we are tucked away nestling on a hill above the A24 with panoramic views of the Mole Valley. In summertime and springtime you can eat alfresco and enjoy those scenic views from our terrace.

During autumn and winter the terrace stays open but you can also enjoy our cosy bar, award winning fresh home cooked food (view A la Carte Menu) and a selection of real ales near the warmth of a crackling log fire. We have a varied wine list and a good selection offered by the glass.

Stay and enjoy the ambience or take advantage of the choice of local walks in this area of outstanding natural beauty. We are ideally located if you are walking on Box Hill, Norbury Park or directly on to Mickleham Downs with direct access thereto on a public footpath running alongside the pub.

Cherkley Court is also accessible by footpath from the top of Byttom Hill. And Denbies Vineyard is a short hop along the A24, as is the National Trust stately home of Polesden Lacey.

Come along, the King Billy has been here since 1790 waiting for you to visit.

We look forward to seeing you.
