Shooting first began at the “Grouse” in 1978. The ground is open for English Sporting on Sundays from 9:30 am until 12 noon with hot food and drinks available, and all traps fully automated and using biodegradable clays. The shoot is strictly felt/fibre wads only.
Set in the northwest corner of the Peak Park at Chunal, Glossop, adjacent to the A624 with main road access (no 4×4 required) on a 30 acre site (see map for full details). The shoot sits 1068ft above sea level and being one of the longest established shooting grounds in Derbyshire the setting could not be finer. Rolling moorland surrounded by a rambling grouse moor create an environment where the sight of a grouse watching the shooters from a dry stone wall is not uncommon.
We also cater for stag/hen parties, team building days, corporate events and groups of any size, with prices starting from £30pp.
The Grouse is the only shooting ground in the area that provides tuition from a fully certified and insured CPSA Level 2 Advanced Sporting Coach.
