Who is FTC for?
Youth football players who want to reach their maximum potential. The program is not designed to replace team training sessions, but to be incorporated within the player's current training regime.

How does FTC improve players?
In the past, football has been somewhat dominated by fast, strong, athletic players who specialise in a single position. However currently, and in the future, the game demands players who are excellent technically, can master the ball and can play in multiple roles or positions. This is the logic on which FTC is founded, to create excellent technical players with fantastic decision making.

What are the methods of FTC?
FTC develops players using a 4 step cycle which is continuous throughout their development:

Step 1: Player/team evaluation - Coach, player & parent make an assessment on the current levels of the players or individual across a range of characteristics, and decide upon the best program to meet their needs. Additionally, the aims and objectives of the sessions are set at this point.

Step 2: The player/team participates in the sessions, these may be once or twice weekly. These sessions may be delivered to a whole team, an individual, or a small group, depending on the needs of the client.

Step 3: After every session, each FTC player will receive an update on their 'FTC Passport to Success'. This is a virtual log that keeps track of everything the player has completed and achieved, the aims of the session, future goals, and gives vital feedback to the player and parent. Additionally, football homework can be set for the player so that they are constantly improving and fully prepared for the next session. This is a key aspect of FTC, it ensures that parent, player and coach are all very clear on where the player is in their development and shapes the programme for the player in the future.

Step 4: Player review - Coach, player and parent review the progress that has been made in comparison to the goals that were set and what has been recorded in the 'FTC Passport To Success'. The process then begins again from Step 1.

WE BELIEVE THE MOST EFFECTIVE WAY TO DEVELOP YOUNG PLAYERS IS TO WORK IN SMALL GROUPS - BETWEEN 4 AND 7 PLAYERS. WE RECOMMEND THIS AS IT PROVIDES A GREAT BALANCE BETWEEN THE INDIVIDUAL LEARNING ENVIRONMENT THAT A 1 TO 1 SESSION OFFERS AND THE GAME REALISM OF A TEAM TRAINING SESSION.
