When Mark bought his house in Keyworth there was half a shed in the back Garden that his mate Tim laughed at and called a Bus stop. Of such things are legends made!

Undeterred Mark put a couple of seats and a chimnea in the “Bus Stop” and invited Tim round every Thursday evening for a couple of beers and a tin of chilli or curry cooked on top of the chimnea. Thus was born a Chimnea night.

Tim moved from Lilac Close and built a hovel at his new home in Rannock Drive in Keyworth his surname being Ball this was called “The Ball Room”. Every other Thursday Mark now came to Tim’s and they became “The Chimnea Knights”.

Steevi was invited to a Chimnea night and immediately saw the benefit of a garden hovel, built one and called it “The Engineers Rest” and became the Lilac Knight.

The hovels are all decorated by the owners in a style of their choice but it usually ends up as Beer related trinkets and Brass Tat from a car boot. I-pods provide the music. Wi-fi is available and as a general rule brings your own beer. It needs to be said that all four pubs in the village are crap.

Various events have been held in the hovels. To mark the kings birthday, Elvis Chim. To mark the passing of Tim’s Dad, Ted Fest. We also have Summer Chim. Firework Chim and in honour of “The Mighty Thunder” Thunder Chim. As well as St Andrews, St Georges and St Patrick’s Day Chims

But the best is the first weekend in July where we remember the start and have Bus Fest. Where 8 like-minded “Bus Festers” Bring 8 beers and celebrate.
