The Drum and Monkey Pub in Dorridge
Records show that a pub has stood on this site since 1861. The current name probably relates to the blasting powder carriers who worked on the construction of the nearby railway, known as the ‘powder monkeys’, and the drum in which the powder was stored.

Directions:

Situated on Four Ashes Road, less than 1 mile from Jct 4 of the M42. From Solihull follow Widney Manor road towards Dorridge/Hockley Heath, from the M42 follow the A3400 towards Hockley Heath and turn left at the Texaco garage and along Box trees road.
