Hi and Welcome to my facebook page The Chainsaw Carver, I'm Barrie Graham a self taught chainsaw carver living and working in Porth Y Waen here on the border of Shropshire and Powys. This is a beautiful part of the UK which is full of History, Myth, and Legend, all of which give me the inspiration for my carvings.

Unlike a lot of carvers I don't come from a background of working in the forestry industry and then coming into carving, In fact Up to 2012 carving was a hobby that I'd been doing on and off from the early 70's as a boy with the conventional knives and chisels.

Then in 2011, I became unemployed and started carving again to pass the time in between job applications. It was during this time that I was getting more and more requests by family & friends and friends of friends to carve bigger pieces. This naturally led me to chainsaws to enable me to remove the excess timber quickly.

Then I had the Eureka moment! If people are are willing to pay me for my carving, why not stop searching for a job and do what I love doing for a living... my carving! The rest they say is history.

To date my customers include The Forestry Commission, The Shropshire Wildlife Trust, Local Schools and Private customers ranging from the Scottish Highlands to Cornwall, the Republic of Ireland to Italy,
